Come join the USF Department of Emergency Management in the Marshall Student Center atrium on May 24 from 10:00a-2:00p for free readiness resources and information about hurricane preparedness!
Hurricane Season is approaching!
Hurricanes are large, spiraling tropical storms that can pack wind speeds of over 160 mph and unleash more than 2.4 trillion gallons of rain a day. 40% of the hurricanes that occur in the United States hit Florida, so it is critical to be alert and prepared. Hurricane season spans from June 1 to November 30, with August to October being the more active months in the season.
Are you prepared for "Rocky" weather?
Your individual preparedness greatly contributes to the overall preparedness of the USF community and helps in recovering from any storm - minor or major. Hurricanes require proactive methods; it is important to keep track of the weather during these months and maintain a disaster kit year round. At this event, Emergency Management will be able to answer questions you may have, provide valuable resources, and help you to become prepared for Hurricane Season.
