Professor Maya Trotz Elected as a Fellow by the Association of Environmental Engineering & Science Professors (AEESP)

06/11/25 — Professor Maya Trotz has been named a Fellow of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. The recognition honors her groundbreaking research and long-standing commitment to community-engaged environmental science. Her work addresses coral reef survival, nutrient pollution and water equity with global relevance. Named an NSF-KADF Ocean Decade Champion in both 2023 and 2024, Trotz continues to raise the bar for research impact. She also served as the keynote speaker for the prestigious 2024 Environmental Sciences: Water Gordon Research Conference. Learn how her efforts are shaping a more sustainable world.

AAEES Honored Three USF Engineering Students and Alum

06/06/25 — Three members of the University of South Florida community were honored by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists for their achievements. Tione Grant received the 2024 EESF Scholarship, Bruno Mancini earned the 2025 W. Brewster Snow Award, and alumna Addie Buerck was named to the AAEES 40 Under 40 list. Additionally, Laura Gonzalez Rodriguez and her team won the 2025 E3S Design Prize, showcasing USF’s growing impact in environmental engineering and science.
