Membership Benefits

If you're offered membership in Sigma Xi, you should not hesitate -- accept the invitation! First of all, it does not cost you anything.  The university covers your initial year of membership - for undergraduate and graduate students - as a way of recognizing your outstanding achievement.

Since August 2023, our chapter has inducted 34 new members, including 4 post-doctoral fellows, 16 undergraduate students, and 13 graduate students. On April 22, 2024, 26 of them were able to attend the USF Student Research Award luncheon, at the USF Research Park. During the ceremony, we recognized our new inductees and Grant awardees. Sigma Xi certificates were presented and members had the opportunity to learn about other successful researcher peers celebrated that day.

Sigma Xi is an international, multidisciplinary community of science and engineering professionals dedicated to research excellence, to promoting public engagement with science, and to fostering the next generation of researchers. Through the recognition and honor of induction, Sigma Xi members join a distinguished community of researchers. The principal benefits of membership are:
