2016 Outstanding Staff Awards - A Celebration of Excellence & Achievement!
The USF School of Music Concert Hall had a full house on Tuesday, April 4th, as the University community came together to recognize and celebrate the 63 honorees of the 2016 Outstanding Staff Award (OSA).
The event was hosted by President Judy Genshaft, who welcomed everyone and spoke about the importance of the Outstanding Staff Awards, the University of South Florida's most prestigious award for excellence and achievement. The audience enjoyed a short video created for the event that featured USF and its employees through the years. The video, which appears below, was produced by Wayne Espinola and University Communications and Marketing.
Dr. Roger Brindley, USF System Vice President for USF World, announced the Outstanding Staff Individual and Team recipients
The recipients of this year's Employee of the Year awards, co-sponsored by the Gabor Agency, were Anita Thompson, Unit Research Administrator with the College of Marine Science and Rich Kendrick, Custodial Supervisor with the Marshall Student Center. In addition to a monetary award, the two will also receive a reserved parking space with a sign indicating "Employee of the Year" for one year, beginning with the fall 2017 semester.
All of the 2016 OSA recipients then joined President Judy Genshaft in the center of the stage for a group photo and a confetti shower, a fitting end for an amazing group of Outstanding Staff Award recipients!
The ceremony ended with a reception in the lobby of the concert hall where recipients joined family, friends and colleagues to enjoy light refreshments and celebrate their achievements.
