Meet the Staff
Keri Riegler, Director of New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs at the University of South Florida, contributes to university-wide efforts to increase student enrollment, engagement, and retention. Keri has fifteen years of higher education experience providing leadership for the first-year experience, parent and families, orientation, student programming, leadership programs, and student organizations. She also served for five years as an instructor for USF's first-year experience course. Keri is honored to have been appointed to various USF committees including, the Student Success Taskforce, the Student Success Council, USF's Quality Enhancement Plan Committee, and USF's Persistence/Case Management Committee. Keri's professional interest include; models that increase retention/progression rates, innovative ways to establish small peer communities, and professional staff career development. Keri holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and a master's degree from the University of South Florida. Keri loves being outdoors, is an avid CrossFitter, enjoys exploring hidden gems in Florida, and relaxes with her two Labradors Retrievers.
Michelle was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, Michelle left the winters for sunny Florida where she completed her Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs while working in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Michelle continue to work in the office until May 2016 when she joined the University of South Florida community. Michelle's professional interest include: peer leadership models and their impact on student success, career readiness of new/young student affairs' professionals, male retention in higher education, emergency and crisis preparedness, and financial implications of statewide funding models. Outside of work, you can find Michelle watching her favorite Cleveland and collegiate sports teams, in the gym early morning, and meal prepping on Sundays.
Tura was born in raised in sunny Bradenton, Florida. After earning her Bachelor's Degrees in Sociology and Psychology at Florida State University (with minors in Leadership Studies and Communication), she took the Midwest by storm, completing her Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University. She served as the Graduate Administrative Associate in the Office of Orientation and First Year Experience working with student leadership and transfer student initiatives. Tura's research interests include spiritual development of college students, the intersection of critical theory and leadership development, and the relationship between peer leadership and first-year retention. In her spare time, Tura enjoys traveling, exploring the live music scene, trying out a new recipe, and playing ukulele for her cat, Simba.
Jacoby Waldron hails from the Midwest in Indiana. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Marketing from Indiana State University in 2014, he decided to remain in Terre Haute to pursue his Masters Degree in Student Affairs & Higher Education at ISU. Throughout his two years in graduate school, Jacoby worked as a graduate assistant for Residential Life and the Office of New Student Transition Programs. When outside of work, you can find Jacoby spending time at the gym working out and playing basketball, napping on the beach, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Boston Red Sox, or binge watching his favorite Netflix/Hulu shows.
Staff Assistant/Office Manager
Lydia is a former employee of Fordham University where she worked for 23 years. She earned her bachelor degree Fordham University in the area of Human Development. Lydia enjoys working with all aspects of the New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs.
Libby is an undergraduate student pursuing her degree in mass communications. Libby
joined the office in November of 2016.
Senior Champion - Student Assistant
Jorden is currently entering his second year and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and soon Music. He is heavily involved in various activities on and off campus which includes but not limited to the following: Circle K International, Bulls Service Breaks Animal Rights Trip Coordinator, and USF Symphony Orchestra. One place you can always find Jorden is in our suite where he works and resides when he wants to take a break.
