Overview

Design and Construction

The Design and Construction Department is responsible for in-house design and engineering services, major and minor construction and engineering project management, and project reporting.

Emergency Management

USF Emergency Management (EM) is a USF-wide function based out of the Tampa campus. It coordinates activities to protect, prevent and mitigate against; respond to; and recover from disasters and emergencies affecting the University. Using an all-hazards approach, USF EM coordinates emergency operations to enhance a safe and secure environment at USF that is conducive to living, learning, and working.

Environmental Health and Safety

USF Environmental Health and Safety supports the mission of USF while promoting success of students and the advancement of research; by protecting life, property, and the environment. EH&S supports the principles of safety, environmental compliance, and risk management and assists the university community through education, hazard assessment, exposure mitigation, and the responsible management of hazardous materials.

Maintenance and Utility Services

Maintenance and Utility Services provides maintenance and repair service for campus facilities. This includes the maintenance and operation of utility systems, plants, and water and electrical distribution systems. The department also manages and monitors all internal utility meters and is responsible for the controllers of Building Automation Systems and infrastructure equipment. The University Key Shop is also part of this department.

Planning

The Planning Department handles campus planning, sustainability, space management and analysis, and building information services. The department is responsible for the campus Master Plan, building floor plans, campus maps and graphics, interior design, landscape design, signage and wayfinding, LEED certification and green programs, the Annual Capital Improvement Plan, as well as various special projects.

Services

Services is responsible for custodial services in 83 E&G buildings, grounds maintenance for approximately 500 acres, maintenance and repair of university vehicles, as well as waste management and recycling. The USF Post Office is also part of this department, which is responsible for providing mail service to students and employees as well as operating a full service post office that is open to the public.
