The Awards & Honors Committee of the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society
(EMGS) has selected Nader Abdalla to receive one of the EMGS Undergraduate Research
Scholarship Program Awards for 2022. Undergraduate students are critical parts of
the education system and the source of our future scientific leaders. This scholarship
program hopes to encourage scientific research by underrepresented undergraduate students
and support their attendance at EMGS annual meetings. The committee was impressed
with the quality of Nadar's research project, application, and letter of support.
Nadar's research mentor, Marcus S. Cooke, MSc, PhD, as a member of EMGS, will receive
a check for $1000 to support Nadar's research project in their lab. Nadar will also
receive travel support (up to $1,500) to attend the 13th International Conference
on Environmental Mutagens and 53rd Annual Meeting of the EMGS to present their research
findings as a poster and/or platform presentation. The 13th International Conference
on Environmental Mutagens and 53rd Annual Meeting of the EMGS which will be held August
27-September 1, 2022 in Ottawa Canada. Congratulations Nadar!
