Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission to the program must meet the following requirements:

Undergraduate Degree

Applicants must hold a degree from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution in the United States or from a recognized institution in a foreign country, but MBA students come from a myriad of backgrounds. They hold undergraduate degrees from a variety of areas, such as business, psychology, communications, medicine, education, engineering, arts, or architecture. Students work in fields as varied as sales, education, military, manufacturing, healthcare, marketing, technology, the arts, banking, or professional sports.

Strong candidates earned at least a 3.0 GPA in their last 60 undergraduate credit hours. In our most recent MBA classes, the average undergraduate GPA was 3.3.

GRE or GMAT Test Scores

For the most recent classes, the average GMAT score has been approximately 570. A GMAT preparation course and a GRE preparation course are available.

To request consideration for a GMAT/GRE waiver, students must meet one of two options and upload the appropriate form to their application:

  • Work Experience
    Applicants must have extensive work experience in a career with upward mobility and a minimum of five years of managerial experience. This significant managerial experience includes, but is not limited to, hiring/firing,significant budgetary authority, decision making authority and should be combined with additional positive academic credentials.   • GPA
    Applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree from USF Tampa and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as indicated on the USF transcript (no rounding), can submit a GMAT waiver request. If you meet this criteria, please upload this form to your application.

Language Ability

International applicants whose native language is not English or who have not earned a degree in the United States must meet minimum TOEFL scores of 550 for the paper version, 213 for the computer-based or 79 for the Internet-based. Applicants must also score at least a 25 on the verbal section of the GMAT. View more information about english proficiency.
