Study Overview: Researchers at the Auditory Rehabilitation and Clinical Trials Laboratory (ARCT Lab) within the Department of Otolaryngology are conducting a research study to identify knowledge gaps regarding hearing loss and hearing healthcare among Black women and determine whether the Health Belief Model (HBM) is an appropriate framework for exploring knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about hearing loss and hearing healthcare among Black adults, particularly women. Researchers are seeking participants who are Black/African American female adults. This is a two-phase study where participants select the phase they would like to participate in. Phase 1 is a 1-2 hour interview via Microsoft TEAMS or in person. Phase 2 is an online questionnaire that takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Qualified candidates will be compensated for their participation in the study, and there will be no cost to the participant or the participant’s insurance company
