My hearing aid is not working. What do I do?

The first step to troubleshooting a hearing aid is to change the battery. If the hearing aid still does not work, wipe the rubber dome off with a soft tissue to remove any debris. If the hearing aid continues to not work, take off the rubber dome at the end of the hearing aid wire and replace the tiny white wax guard with a new one. New wax guards were provided to each research subject at the beginning of the study. Phonak hearing aids use the wax guards attached to black sticks inside of a gray cardboard box. Starkey hearing aids use the wax guards attached to orange sticks inside a plastic tube. If changing the wax guard does not fix the hearing aid, please call the lab as soon as possible to schedule a visit.
