New Student Checklist - First Year Students

Spring 2020 Admitted First Year Student Checklist

1. ACTIVATE YOUR NETID AND USF EMAIL ADDRESS

If you haven't already, activate your NetID and check your USF email address regularly. Your USF email is used by all university offices for all official communication.

2. LOG INTO MYBULLSPATH

Use your NetID to log into myBullsPath, which will guide you through the next steps in your admissions and onboarding process. Complete any remaining tasks listed here.

3. VERIFY YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

Please take a moment to update your contact information to ensure that you receive critical information from USF.

  • Sign in to myUSF and navigate to OASIS (Online Access Student Information System)
  • Navigate to "Personal Information"
  • Verify that your address, telephone number and email addresses are current

4. CONFIRM YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS

Confirm your status is accurate to ensure you will be charged the correct tuition rate.

  • Sign in to myUSF and navigate to OASIS (Online Access Student Information System)
  • Navigate to "Personal Information"
  • Confirm that your residency status is correct by reviewing our Residency Information for Freshmen (See the items you can provide to show proof of residency and what qualifies you as a resident)
  • If your residency status is wrong, email your admissions recruiter or call 813-974-3350

5. SUBMIT THE FAFSA

Need financial aid? You will need to submit your Federal Application for Free Student Aid (FAFSA) before the January 1 priority deadline to be considered for the most types of aid possible. To receive aid for spring 2020 and summer 2020, complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA.

6. PAY ADMISSIONS DEPOSIT

In order to secure your spot for spring, please pay your deposit no later than December 1. To make your payment:

  • Sign in to myUSF and navigate to OASIS (Online Access Student Information System)
  • Navigate to "Admissions"
  • Pay $200 non-refundable deposit 

7. SUBMIT YOUR IMMUNIZATION RECORDS AND MEDICAL HISTORY

Submit your immunization records and medical history so you can register for orientation, apply for campus housing, and register for courses.

  • Check the USF Applicant Portal to determine which records are on file
  • Complete any pending items and tasks
  1. Upload missing Immunization Records to the Applicant Portal
  2. Verify in the Applicant Portal that documents have been received and holds have been cleared
  3. Allow 3-7 days for processing of pending items
  • Holds will be cleared once all tasks are completed

8. APPLY FOR HOUSING AND MEAL PLAN

9. REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION

Orientation is your opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a USF student, both in and out of the classroom. Registration opens in October and attendance is required.

10. CHECK YOUR ON-CAMPUS ROOM ASSIGNMENT

The Housing & Residential Education team will provide the best available option based on your room preferences.

  • You must have completed your housing application and registered for orientation to receive a housing assignment

11. SUBMIT FINAL TRANSCRIPTS, TEST SCORES AND EXAM CREDITS

Once you receive your final high school and dual enrollment transcripts with final grades and graduation date(s), submit them to the Office of Admissions. You must submit these documents before your first day of classes.

12. CONNECT WITH YOUR PEERS

Meet your new classmates before setting foot on campus!
