Families and Guests

Parent and Family Programs

The Office of Parent & Family Programs is happy to welcome you and your student to USF and looks forward to connect with you during the Family & Guest program offered by the Office of Orientation!

Your student's decision to attend USF is life changing, offering the opportunity to achieve academic success, build new friendships, develop new interests, explore new ideas, engage in our local community, and create a network of supporters who will help in any way possible.

Whether this is the first student you are sending off to college or your last, this is a time of transition for you and your family. Family members often feel apprehension at the thought of their students being on their own for the first time, and siblings will miss their brothers and sisters. Of course, you might also feel a sense of elation as you realize your student is an independent, confident young adult who is ready to take on the world! These are all normal feelings, and here at Parent and Family Programs, we want to help you navigate the transition that you and your family are going through.

The Office of Parent and Family Programs is your office on campus. Please learn about how you can engage with the office and take advantage of the resources offered by the department. Stay connected by:

  • Reading the BULLetin, a monthly e-newsletter full of resources and helpful information for both you and your student
  • Following us on Facebook and Instagram to receive weekly updates and connect with other family members
  • Attending events such as Family & Friends Weekend and Spring Family Day
  • Enjoying informative publications like our Bull Family Connect that will help you understand your student's growth and development at USF
