Dr. Pritish Mukherjee
Dr. Pritish Mukherjee, Vice Provost for Strategy, Institutional Excellence & Faculty Success and Professor, Department of Physics
Dr. Mukherjee joined USF Physics Department in 1988, with 118 peer-reviewed publications and 3 issued U.S. patents Mukherjee led a significant growth of the Physics Department as Chair from 2003 to 2015, is a recipient of the National R&D 100 Award, and was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors in 2011.
Current responsibilities include strategic planning related to faculty and student recruitment, and enhancing university reputation.
Recent accomplishments:
- Co-chair of the USF Tampa Strategic Plan (2019-2024) and the Consolidation Implementation Committee
- Local and global partnerships such as the USF Nexus Initiative connecting faculty to global and national collaborators, the North American Young Research Universities Network, and the Florida Board of Governors plan for programs of national excellence
- Development of a patent-disclosed Performance of Organizational Ecosystem Mapping (POEM) concept for university rankings
Anticipated high-impact activities:
- Working on the USF Accreditation Steering Committee to guide single accreditation by SACSCOC
- Leading a focused faculty success initiative
- Continued strategic use of data analytics to further institutional impact, student and faculty success, research and innovation, and fostering partnerships
