The Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology is
a 36-semester hour program. This program is designed to prepare students for leadership
in technology related positions and develop the skills of practicing professionals.
Courses include an array of topics including: instructional design, distance learning,
web programming, instructional graphics and project management. An Ed.S. project is
required. This degree program can be completed online or on campus.
The Ed.S. degree at USF is designed as a terminal, post-master's degree. Although some courses taken in the Ed.S. program could count towards a subsequent Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree (depending on the decision of the doctoral advising committee), it is recommended that students decide to pursue either the Ed.S. program or the Ph.D. program.
