Applying For Aid

IRS Data Retrieval Tool

Due to security concerns, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Federal Student Aid (FSA) have disabled the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. The DRT will be available for completion for the 2018-19 FAFSA only on October 1, 2017.

The IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT) allows you to transfer your income data directly into the FAFSA from the IRS. Use of the IRS DRT speeds up the processing of your FAFSA.

If you are selected for verification for the 2018-19 school year and are required to submit tax return transcripts, you may update your FAFSA using the IRS DRT instead of providing paper copies of your tax return transcripts.

In order to complete the 2017-2018 FASFA, you may manually enter 2015 tax information from your tax return on the FAFSA website. If you are selected for verification and are required to submit tax return transcripts, you may request them online through the IRS 'Get Transcript' option. Instructions for requesting a copy of tax transcripts can be found here.
