Global Sustainability

Overview:

This interdisciplinary program provides a unique opportunity to explore professions that focus on building a sustainable world, including careers in civil and environmental engineering, environmental policy, public health, marine science and transportation policy. Working with USF faculty and professionals, high school juniors and seniors will explore marine and coastal issues; water supply and sanitation; energy issues; urban planning; transportation management; and global change pressures. Students will travel with faculty on field trips to gain firsthand insight into sustainability issues and career opportunities. Activities include classroom discussion and field explorations led by faculty and professionals from USF's Patel School of Sustainability; School of Architecture and Community Design; College of Marine Science; departments of Anthropology and Civil and Environmental Engineering; the Clean Energy Research Center; and the Center for Urban Transportation and Research.
