Come join Outdoor Recreation as we head up north for a weekend of camping and hopefully finding some snow! There are no USF classes on Monday, so come enjoy the extended weekend up in some mountains with much cooler weather. We'll be driving up pretty far to find snow, but as fickle as the weather is please remember the amount/availability of snow is HIGHLY variable and not guaranteed! All depends on this season's snowfall!

Intro to Mountain Biking

Join USF Outdoor Rec as we adventure out to Santos Trailhead. Santos offers over 80 miles of trails to engage in the ultimate riding experience (in Florida). Refuel with lunch that's provided and go tear up some more trails.

Citrus Park Day Hiking

We will be day hiking in Citrus Wildlife preserve on segments of Florida's famous 1,000 mile hiking trail known as the Florida Trail. Citrus offers a great change in scenery while showing almost all of Florida's native ecosystems. You never know what you'll see along the Florida Trail!

There is a new moon on Thursday, Feb 15 – making for very dark skies the following weekend as the moon begins waxing. Kissimmee Prairie Preserve has some of the best stargazing in the SE United States. Come join us for some s'mores and stargazing!

Wild Experience: Whitewater Rafting

Come join us as we take 2 days on the Chattahoochee and experience the river like never before! We'll have 2 days on the same river, but the experience will be totally different because one will be in a raft and the other will be in tandem duckys! No experience necessary though, so come to have a thrilling experience!

Mound Key Kayaking

This is a day trip to a Island near Fort Myers called Mound Key. Mound Key is a island that once hosted the Calusa Indian Kingdom and has since been turned into an archaeological park. It is about a 5 mile round trip paddle form Lover's Key State Park, with a half-mile open-water crossing. It has views of mangrove islands with potential wildlife such as dolphins, manatees, mullet, and a lot of birds!

Yoga & Mindfulness at Black Balsam Knob

Connect with nature and yourself on our 2-day relaxation retreat in the North Carolina Mountains! Geocaching Service Adventure

This experience will be a combination geocaching adventure and service-learning trip. Participants will get the opportunity to explore sections of the 30 miles of hiking trails as well as uncover as many of the 80+ geocaches hidden throughout. In addition, participants will be volunteering with a local environmental nonprofit while learning about the local flora and fauna.

Puerto Rico Service Trip
San Juan, PR
May 6, 2018 - May 12, 2018

This year, we're headed down to Puerto Rico to help rebuild after hurricanes Maria and Irma devastated the island. We'll be headed to El Yunque, the only tropical National Rainforest in the National Forest Service system. We'll be helping rebuild/clear trails for visitors to enjoy and clearing out their primitive campsites so that families can once again enjoy camping with the enchanting sound of Coqui everywhere! We'll be a self contained unit, primitive camping in El Yunque ourselves with very few amenities even accessible. If you love nature, connecting people to the outdoors, and want a way to help out Puerto Rico, this is the trip for you!

Wild Hawai'i Hiking & Camping

We'll be headed back to the island of Kauai for our second year! This trip includes day hiking, camping, and possibly some backpacking in the Waimea Canyons, Na Pali Coast, and Alakai Swamps of Kauai. Truly a WILD experience, you'll see some amazing beautiful landscapes only found in Hawaii!
