Grow Financial Literacy & Planning Clinic

Become a Financial Coach

Make an Impact. Build Your Skills. Get Real-World Experience.

The Grow Financial Literacy and Planning Clinic at the USF Muma College of Business is looking for motivated, passionate students to serve as peer financial coaches. This clinic provides financial education to USF students, teachers, and the greater Tampa Bay community, while giving student coaches meaningful, hands-on experience in financial education and outreach.

Inspired by professional school clinics, the Grow Financial Literacy and Planning Clinic allows students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world settings. As a peer coach, you’ll help others build confidence around budgeting, credit, debt management, and financial decision-making, all while strengthening your own communication, leadership, and professional skills.

Why Become a Peer Financial Coach?

As a coach, you’ll gain:

  • Hands-on, applied learning experience in financial education and coaching.
  • Professional development and paid training, including earning the Certified Financial Education Instructor credential.
  • Opportunities to work one-on-one with students, lead workshops, and participate in classroom visits.
  • Real-world experience that supports careers in financial planning, education, business, and community engagement.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact by helping others improve their financial wellness.

This role is ideal for students who enjoy helping others, communicating complex ideas clearly, and making a difference on campus and in the community.
