CFS Research Professor, Heather Peshak George, Ph.D., speaker at Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Conference in Australia

Heather Peshak George, Ph.D., Research Professor and Primary Investigator and Co-Primary Investigator on a number of Positive Behavior Support Projects that she Co-Directs in the Department of Child & Family Studies (CFS), was a featured speaker at the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Conference in Queensland, Australia in June 2022.

The conference provided an opportunity for schools to hear the latest research on multi-tiered systems of support, to learn from researchers and practitioners about implementation of positive behaviour supports in schools and to network and share effective practice with others.

This year’s theme was Equity: It’s everybody’s Business. Dr. George’s keynote presentation, “What’s MTSS Got to Do with It? Double Down on Prevention by Integrating Priorities,” Master Class workshop, Building and Sustaining a Strong Foundation with Tier 1 Supports, and breakout session, Looking Beyond Behavior with Function-Based Support, discussed the critical components of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) and the application of positive behavior interventions in classrooms.
