Evaluation of Extended High Frequency Auditory Physiology as Feasible Clinical Audiology Measures [EHF Objective Measurements (FX-010)]

Eligibility: Participants must be a normal hearing individual aged 18-30 years old or an individual with sensorineural hearing loss aged 18-65 years old.

Goal: To evaluate hearing using very high-pitched sounds (also referred to as extended high frequencies; EHF), among normal hearing volunteers and patients with hearing loss.

Study Overview: Researchers at the Auditory Rehabilitation and Clinical Trials Laboratory (ARCT Lab) within the Department of Otolaryngology are conducting a research study to evaluate hearing using high pitched sounds. The researchers are seeking participants who are 18-65 years of age with normal or sensorineural hearing loss. The study will take place over 1-4 sessions, approximately 20 hours in total. Qualified candidates will be compensated for their participation in the study, and there will be no cost to the participant or the participant’s insurance company.
