Welcome to the Clinical Translational Amplification Research (CTAR) Lab. Our lab investigates
how hearing aid technologies and listener characteristics interact to support communication
in everyday environments. Our work is at the intersection of auditory perception,
cognitive science, and hearing technology.
Our studies include individuals with normal hearing and hearing loss. By pairing experimental
findings with clinically relevant insights, we aim to inform the development of next-generation
hearing aid strategies.
The CTAR Lab has been supported by federal and foundation funding, including grants
from the National Institutes of Health; as well as institutional and departmental
support.
