The Elder Law Paralegal Specialty Certificate explores the legal issues that affect America’s growing elderly population.

You will study elder law topics such as advance directives, guardianship, conservatorship, Medicaid and Medicare planning, long-term care planning, financial planning, end-of-life matters, discrimination, and family issues. The program also covers wills, trusts, and estates, including the planning and administration work paralegals may support in legal settings.

The course includes practical guidance on working with older adults, including cultural and generational differences that may affect communication, planning, and legal support.

This self-paced online program gives learners six months of access and can be completed from anywhere with an internet connection. Participants are also assigned a judge mentor or facilitator for guidance during the program.
