USF College of Education associate professor is honored with 2023 USF Innovation in Online Design and Teaching Award

The University of South Florida (USF) College of Education, on behalf of Innovative Education, announces associate professor Sanghoon Park as the recipient of the 2023 USF Innovation in Online Design and Teaching Award. This inaugural award recognizes exceptional online teaching practices and significant contributions to the design, development and delivery of student-centered online teaching and learning. Park will have the opportunity to present his effective teaching practices with other SUS faculty at the TOPkit workshop or Innovation Summit in 2024.

Park teaches graduate courses in the department of Educational and Psychological Studies including, Current Trends of Instructional Technology and Interactive Media and Motivational Design in Learning Technology. His instructional goals are to create an optimal learning environment and provide students with excellent teaching and advising. Park’s research agenda involves utilizing instructional design approaches and emerging technologies to provide optimal learning experiences in diverse learning settings.

Recently, Park along with some of his graduate students, presented at the seventh International Symposium on Education (ISE): Future Education for the Changing Societal Needs. This conference was hosted in the metaverse with professors from international universities such as China, Japan and South Korea. The presentations covered topics such as virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI).

The College of Education celebrates Park’s accomplishments and acknowledges his outstanding achievement in enhancing online teaching practices and innovations in online learning.
