Council on Academic Freedom & Responsibility
The Council on Academic Freedom & Responsibility (CAFR) advises the Provost and Vice
President of USF Health or their designees, the Faculty Senate Executive Committee,
and the Faculty Senate concerning University practices and policies bearing upon academic
freedom, academic responsibility, tenure, promotion, and professional ethics. In addition
to reviewing and making recommendations concerning such policies, CAFR engages in
fact finding and issues assessments related to University practices and actions bearing
upon academic freedom and academic responsibility, including those arising under University
Policy 10.050, and reports its findings and assessments to the Faculty Senate Executive
Committee and other appropriate bodies.
