College and SAT Prep Institute

College and SAT Prep Institute

The College and SAT Prep Institute is designed to provide students entering 11-12th grades with the tools they need to prepare for and succeed on the SAT exam and successfully transition into college. During the program, students will learn beneficial skills in test taking and concept mastery as they learn the ins and outs of the college application process and important aspects of college life.

The first half of each day provides an in-depth review of SAT exam content, strategies for improving scores and a comprehensive study plan. The second half of the day is focused on college process readiness and the intricacies of involvement opportunities that await students on college campuses. Students will participate in programs with the USF Office of Admissions, New Student Connections, Career Services and the Office of Undergraduate Research. Outside of official USF programming, numerous social activities will take place each night on campus.

Students will stay in Cypress Suites residence hall during the experience with summer mentor staff who are focused on helping students understand the college admissions and transition process. At the culmination of this residential experience, students will be empowered for success, not only on the SAT, but in their future college experience.
