AI in Business Communication

The most effective business writers aren’t typing alone, they’re co-creating with AI. In this four-week, live-online course you will partner with USF Department of English faculty to integrate AI into your own communication workflow—from quick emails to complex reports and presentations.
Weekly 90-minute sessions combine demonstrations, discussion, and real-time feedback; independent assignments (~ 3 hrs/week) let you experiment, refine, and apply new techniques to authentic projects. By course end you will produce a concise “AI playbook” you can deploy and share at work for immediate on-the-job impact.
Successful completers earn the USF AI in Business Communication digital badge, ready to be displayed on your LinkedIn profile, email signature, or resume.
Cohorts are capped at 20 participants to ensure direct interaction with instructors and peers.

How do I earn the badge/digital credential?
USF is pleased to offer an official, Credly-backed digital microcredential, upon completion
of the course. Eligibility for the badge requires that participants complete all required
assignments with a score of 80% or higher. The Credly site is separate from the Canvas
learning management system and requires participants to create a separate login. Instructions
for this are all provided within the workshop, but you can watch this video for more
information.
What is the value of the badge/digital microcredential?
The digital badge is your opportunity to invest in your own skill set while also contributing
to your professional story. It provides tangible evidence of your experience leveraging
GenAI and signifies the completion and creation of plans detailing how you have conceptualized
the practical use of GenAI. You can showcase your badge within professional platforms
(e.g., LinkedIn), CV, and your portfolio.
Are there any restrictions for the badge?
Please note that individuals from countries listed under U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) are ineligible to participate in the course.
