Volunteer

Florida MESA upholds our value of community through partnerships and volunteer opportunities. There are many ways you can get involved with Florida MESA. When you volunteer and/or partner with us, we are able to provide access, resources, and services to STEM professionals and life changing experiences for our students.

STEM Coaches

Providing students with access to practicing STEM professionals and educators can change the trajectory of students' path towards STEM. As a STEM Coach you serve as a resource for students to ask questions about your college path, and if applicable, your experience entering the workforce. Students will be able to reach out to you directly via email or book a virtual meeting on your calendar.

Guest Speakers

Guest speakers enrich events and educational settings by providing diverse perspectives, expertise, motivation, and networking opportunities. Speakers can operate in one of the following capacities:

  • Featured Speaker: Will share their personal story related to their career, business, and/or research.
  • Tour Guide: Will showcase their office/lab through a recorded or live experience.
  • Workshop Leader: Will prepare a guided STEM activity for MESA students and/or Advisors.
  • Professional Development Presenter: Will prepare a presentation to MESA Advisors at professional development training.

Competition Judge

Each year students will participate in Engineering Design competitions referred to as Demo Day and MESA Day taking place between the months of February - May. These events recruit judges from various STEM paths (professionals, educators, partners, etc.) to score competition entries and provide valuable feedback to our students.

MESA Champion

A MESA Champion is someone who supports MESA's mission, spreads the word about MESA, and creates connections and opportunties to help grow and sustain the MESA program. Our champions share program information through various platforms to connect potential students, teachers, schools, parents, and volunteers to the MESA Program.
