Global Academic Partners

Award for New Opportunities

This award of up to  $7,000 from the GAP Award fund will be extended by a contribution of up to  $5,000 from your college Dean for a total of up to $12,000 per award.

This  award is designed for colleagues who would very much like to engage with a particular GAP university but do not have any contacts at these institutions and are uncertain that there is a scholarly "goodness of fit" or whether there are complementary colleagues available to work with. Please note there are two phases and two deadlines associated with this award. For those USF colleagues hesitant to invest the time necessary to be successful without being sure a matching colleague exists at a GAP partner,  we request you submit a concept paper 2-3 pages by Friday, January 13, 2012. Your concept paper will then be shared with contacts on the campus of the identified GAP university and we will ask for your paper to be circulated accordingly. Our expectation will be that by the end of Spring Break 2012 you will know whether your concept paper resonated with particular faculty at GAP universities. Should that be the case, you will have approximately two months to communicate with your GAP colleague(s) and will then present a proposal following the guidelines for the Award for Developing Partners by Friday, April 27, 2012.

The following proposal guidelines must be observed:
