Limayem served as the Lynn Pippenger Dean of the Muma College of Business at USF for 10 years prior to becoming UNF’s president in 2022. He has been recognized by Florida Trend as one of the state’s 500 most influential business leaders and received an award from the National Academy of Inventors for his many contributions to innovation and invention.

The Tampa Bay community is invited to join students, alumni, faculty and staff for the festivities, which include a kickoff event, parade and the USF football game on Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Bulls take on the Florida Atlantic Owls at Raymond James Stadium.

USF researchers are embedded in the Student Operations Center Apprenticeship Program (SOCAP) to study how AI can ease burnout and sharpen cybersecurity analysts’ focus. Their work explores ways AI can filter noise and streamline alerts, freeing students and professionals to tackle higher-level threats.
USF’s historic invitation to join the Association of American Universities has taken what many in Tampa Bay have once considered a “best-kept secret” to an unprecedented new level. Being an AAU member is a tremendous milestone for USF as it formalizes USF's position as a leading research university. USF is the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the AAU in nearly 40 years and is now one of only two institutions from the State University System of Florida to serve as an AAU member.
