Biography
Raiyan Abdul Baten received his PhD and MS degrees from the University of Rochester and a BSc from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He was a research intern at Snap Inc., in the Computational Social Science group, and Samsung R&D Institute, where he was part of the Solution Lab.
Research Interests
Baten works in the research areas of human-computer interaction, affective computing, computational social science, network science, machine learning/deep learning, natural language processing, and graph data mining. He directs the USF Computational Social Science and AI (CSSAI) Lab.
His research focuses on building human-centered technology to enhance people’s soft skills and collective performance outcomes in online interaction platforms.
Teaching Interests
His teaching interests include social media mining, human-computer interaction, affective computing, ethical issues and professional conduct, data mining, statistical network analysis, machine learning, and natural language processing.
