BIO

Tom Carter earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was on the faculty at the University of Oklahoma and then at Oklahoma City University, where he also served as Chair of the Department of Economics and Finance. He came to USF in 2003. He teaching focuses on international economics and macroeconomics. He has done research in those areas as well as labor economics. His work has been published in the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of Regional Science, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, and others. His most recent work, on job-training, will be published at the Southern Economic Journal in 2021.
