Matthew Karlesky is an assistant professor of instruction in the School of Information Systems and Management in Sarasota-Manatee. He came here in 2018 from Suffolk University where he was an assistant professor in the Sawyer Business School's Department of Management and Entrepreneurship.

Karlesky's research interests lie in social cognition, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation and psychological momentum. His work has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Harvard Business Review, and the Oxford Handbook of Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. He has presented research at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management, the INFORMS Annual Meeting and at the annual Decision Consortium Conference.

He earned a PhD from the University of Michigan, a master's degree from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in business, organizations and society from Franklin & Marshall College.
