Erick M. Mas is an assistant professor of marketing at the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. Prior to USF, he was on the faculty at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, and a postdoctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University. He earned a PhD in marketing from the University of North Texas, an MBA from Barry University, and a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.

His research uses consumer psychology to draw strategic consumer insights centered around the influence of social hierarchies, including social class and political ideology, on marketplace behaviors. His work has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, among others.

In the classroom, Professor Mas has taught a number of courses, including Professional Sales, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Retailing, Advertising, Global Marketing, and Principles of Marketing. Before academia, he had a career in advertising and digital marketing.
