Krista Townsend joined the USF Muma College of Business as an academic advisor in 2016. She provides guidance to undergraduates in all majors in the business school.

Prior to joining the Muma College of Business, Townsend served as an instructor at the Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida for general education coursework. Additionally, she worked as a preceptor for humanities courses taught through FGCU distance learning. She was also an academic advisor at Helena College, University of Montana in Helena, Montana, helping students with overall personal, academic, and career needs.

She earned a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Florida Gulf Coast University.
