ST. PETERSBURG (November 16, 2021) -- Under one consolidated Muma College of Business, USF now holds stocks in two student managed investment funds, one on the Tampa campus and one on the St. Petersburg campus. The Applied Securities Analysis student managed investment fund now exceeds $1.07 million. The Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Center fund has grown to over $600,000. These two funds increase the opportunity for more students to receive hands-on experience managing stock portfolio’s, as well as marks a major milestone for USF. The combined total of both funds exceeds $1.7M, which puts the USF Muma College of Business in a small group of university Student Managed Investment Funds.

The student managed investment funds host two stock pitches each semester, one on the St. Pete campus and one on the Tampa campus. Both funds are now supervised by Leo Chen, who was also recently appointed as the director of the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Center.

Another recent addition to the student managed investment fund is the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Advisory Board that was established in March 2021. Their two-fold mission is to 1) support/advance students’ experiential learning to prepare them for the workforce and 2) develop financial literacy programs for USF and the external community.
