TAMPA (December 17, 2021) -- The online MBA program at USF’s Muma College of Business is continuing its upward trajectory, landing in the No. 20 spot among the nation’s top programs, according to rankings released this week by The Princeton Review.

The program also took the No. 11 spot among public universities, according to The Princeton Review’s survey of Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2022.

“We’re excited to see the online MBA Program continue to be recognized as one of the best in the nation,” said Eric Douthirt, director of the Muma College of Business MBA programs. “Our rise in the rankings makes us extremely proud. Above all else, we want to see our students, who are busy professionals, excel and grow in their careers.”

The Muma College of Business online MBA attracts a broad diversity of students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. Most students work full-time and can complete the program in two to three years. Others may choose to enroll full-time and finish in one year.

In its methodology, The Princeton Review tallied its rankings based on data from its surveys of administrators at more than 130 business schools offering online MBAs. It also factored in data from its survey of more than 7,000 students enrolled in online MBA programs.

More than 60 data points were weighted to determine the list and the criteria focused on five core areas: academics, selectivity, faculty, technical platforms, and career outcomes.

"We commend these schools for their outstanding MBA programs," said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's editor in chief, in a press release. "Each program—on-campus as well as online—offers stellar academics as well as robust experiential components. For students considering an MBA, we present multiple ranking lists.”

“We do not tally a mega-list of best business schools overall because no school, in our opinion, is No. 1 overall,” he said. “Our goal, for the more than 25 years we've conducted this project, is to help MBA applicants choose the business schools and MBA programs best for them.”

In another national survey, Poets&Quants listed USF’s online MBA program at No. 34 in the country and No. 19 among public universities, according to its 2022 ranking of the Best Online MBA Programs.

The online publication for graduate business education based its calculations on the quality of incoming students, graduates’ assessment of the MBA experience, and the career outcomes of the program’s graduates.
