RMHC Hosts Coffee Hour with Fulbright Scholar

Fulbright Scholar Dr. Ming Hung Wang, CRC

As part of its continuing Counseling & Society Series, the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (RMHC) program hosted Fulbright Scholar Dr. Ming Hung Wang, CRC for a coffee hour and presentation. Dr. Wang shared the history of disability rights movement in Taiwan along with the evolution of the special education and vocational rehabilitation systems, both modeled after systems in the United States. He also shared cultural facts and anecdotes about Taiwan and engaged in a lively discussion about education, disabilities, and vocational rehabilitation with current RMHC students, visiting Fulbright Scholar Olesya Volkova, Fulbright Faculty Advisor Dr. Darlene Demarie, and Director of RMHC and former Fulbright Scholar Dr. Chih-Chin Chou.

Dr. Wang is a professor from the Graduate Institute of Rehabilitation Counseling at the National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan. The USF RMHC is hosting five visiting scholars from his university in March as part of an ongoing partnership of cultural and scholastic exchange.
