Research on smartphone based interventions for substance using adults, young adults, and adolescents

Presentation Abstract:

This presentation will describe the trends in smartphone interventions for substance users, how they vary by age, and their significance for adolescent treatment. It will also examine the findings of several recent clinical trials, including which parts of the smartphone interventions best predicted outcomes. And it will discuss what it means to adapt smartphones to better target adolescents and young adults.

Dr. Michael Dennis is a Senior Research Psychologist in Chestnut Health System’s research division and the Director of its Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) Coordinating Center (GCC). He is or has been a PI, Multi-PI, or co-investigator of over dozen research studies focused on adolescent treatment, recovery management, opioids and justice involved patients. To date, he has authored over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles, chapters, manuals, or monographs, and other kinds of technical reports, made over 350 professional presentations, and received multiple professional awards for his work on assessment, treatment, recovery management and translating research to practice.  Michael L.
