CFS’s Research Associate Professor Liz Perkins selected for Florida Department of Health’s new Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Workgroup

CFS’s Research Associate Professor Liz Perkins was recently selected to serve on the newly formed Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Priority Area Workgroup for the 2022-2026 Florida State Health Improvement Plan. The State Health Improvement Plan is a five-year systematic plan to address the top health issues for Florida’s Public Health System. The priority areas for Florida were identified by the State Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee through a robust assessment process.

The Steering Committee nominated members based on their knowledge, experience and because their involvement will be invaluable to the planning process to improve health and public health system outcomes for the citizens of Florida. Dr. Perkins was nominated by Director Barbara Palmer of Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities – for her expertise regarding the unique needs of Floridians with developmental disabilities and their families.
