Who Can Become An Education Provider?

Any organization that provides training in the addictions field can become an Education Provider. They may include the following:

  • Training organizations
  • Colleges and universities
  • Organizations working in the field of addiction who conduct training events

Why Become An Education Provider?

Some of the benefits gained by becoming an Education Provider include:

  • Full use of the Universal Treatment Curriculum - basic, advanced, and GROW.
  • It highlights a continuing education provider's commitment to quality education and dedication to excellence.
  • The provider status will identify a training program as meeting the internationally-approved standards of education developed for those involved in substance use disorders and prevention.
  • Program participants are assured that the continuing education hours provided will be accepted towards credentialing. At the moment credentialing is provided by the ICCE Commission and is accepted in the countries where ICCE operates and other countries participating in ICCE initiatives.

Those identified as ICCE providers will also gain:

  • A listing in the ICCE Directory of Approved Education Providers which is published online
  • Co-host cost-sharing initiatives in collaboration with ICCE
  • The opportunity to post your events in the ICCE Chronicles
  • The use of the 'Colombo Plan ICCE Education Provider's logo on your website and in your publications

All Education Providers undertaking UTC and related training will be requested to provide student data to ISSUP for the purpose of record keeping and administration.
Education Providers are encouraged to prepare their students to take a Credentialing examination currently provided by ICCE.
