School of Social Work selects Field Instructors of the Year

USF School of Social Work

It is a tradition for the School of Social Work to choose a "Field Instructor of the Year" for the undergraduate and graduate programs. This year both of the awardees serve as field instructors for both programs and both are or have been adjuncts for the school as well.

Reginald Vilmenay owns S.T.E.P. Counseling Center in Brandon. He has been mentoring students for 8 years and teaching as an adjunct for 6 years. Reggie has a long history in the mental health field as well as community work.

Ruth Tilden has been serving as a field instructor for almost 40 years! Her illustrious career has included private practice, adjunct professor, and BSW Chair. Ruth continues to serve the social work community by providing oversight and mentoring to students placed in agencies without a social worker on staff.
