School of Social Work hosts celebrations for BSW and MSW graduates

Faculty and staff formed a reception line to congratulate each student after receiving their pin and other awards at the Bachelor of Social Work pinning ceremony.

Graduating students of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program were welcomed into the profession on May 6 during the program's pinning ceremony. The 34 BSW graduates, along with their family and friends, filled the room in the Marshall Student Center.

"To our friends and families, you have witnessed our happiest and most difficult moments," said Joshua Loebel, cohort representative, who spoke alongside fellow representative Alaina Canu. "You have inspired us and reminded us of our mission. We are here to share these moments with you."

Faculty and staff formed a reception line to congratulate each student after they received their pins and other awards. In addition to the pinning, student members of the Phi Alpha National Honor Society for Social Work Students and the Social Work Society were honored. See photos from the BSW pinning ceremony here.

Master of Social Work graduates

The School of Social Work's Master of Social Work (MSW) students also celebrated graduation with an event in the MHC atrium on May 2. Students played "Guess the Grad," identifying childhood photos of each graduate, were recognized with superlatives voted on by their classmates, and heard inspiring messages from faculty.
