Professional and Student Associations

Students in the Educational Psychology program are encouraged to participate in professional and student associations to collaborate with like-minded colleagues, broaden their knowledge, and expand their professional network. Below is a list of organizations recommended by Educational Psychology program faculty.

  • American Educational Research Association
    The American Educational Research Association (AERA), founded in 1916, is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results. 

  • American Psychological Association (Division 15, Educational Psychology)
    The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States, with around 117,500 members including scientists, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students.

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children
    The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a large nonprofit association in the United States representing early childhood education teachers, para-educators, center directors, trainers, college educators, families of young children, policy makers, and advocates. NAEYC is focused on improving the well-being of young children, with particular emphasis on the quality of educational and developmental services for children from birth through age 8.

  • Society for Research in Child Development
    The Society for Research in Child Development is a membership association that advances developmental science & promotes its use to improve human lives.

  • Society for the Study of Human Development
    The Society for the Study of Human Development is a scientific society dedicated toward research and applications for human development policies and programs.

  • Society for Research on Adolescence
    The Society for Research on Adolescence is a dynamic, multidisciplinary, international organization dedicated to understanding adolescence through research and dissemination.
