Bachelor of Science
The Bachelor of Science in English Education prepares students to develop content knowledge related to structures and functions of language, diverse literature (including print and non-print texts and multimedia), adolescent literacy and writing theories and processes. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible for teacher certification from the Florida Department of Education in English (grades 6-12).
Master of Arts
A Master of Arts in Secondary English Education is ideal for students seeking a master’s degree who are already certified/licensed teachers or who have professional experience teaching English. This degree is designed for the professional educator who wishes to pursue advanced study.
Master of Arts in Teaching
A Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary English Education is ideal for students seeking a master’s degree and who are not already certified/licensed to teach in the state of Florida. Students in this program prepare to teach while working towards a master's degree and state of Florida teacher certification in English (grades 6-12).
Doctor of Philosophy
A PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in English Education prepares students to serve as professors in colleges and universities as well as research authors, policy leaders, and curriculum specialists. It is a is challenging and rigorous program, yet it will provide you with a whole new view of the profession.
