Research Overview: Biomechanics

Working with other scientists, engineers, and physicians, research is conducted in the following areas:

  • Shoulder biomechanics, including the design of total shoulder joint replacement
  • Pediatric and adult head trauma
  • Spinal biomechanics, including the design of new spinal orthopedic implant devices
  • The forces associated with “Activities of Daily Living” and strenuous activities
  • Occupant dynamic response during various vehicular impact scenarios
