Phishing scams are a year-round threat, but they often increase at the start of each
semester when students, faculty, and staff are managing a surge of academic, financial,
and administrative tasks.
Cybercriminals take advantage of this busy period by sending convincing emails, text
messages, and other communications that appear to come from trusted sources such as
universities, financial aid offices, payroll departments, banks, or technology providers.
Learn more about how to recognize and report phishing in our USF quick guide. Be aware so you can stay cybersafe this semester!
