Online Advanced Standing Master of Social Work

If you hold a BSW (earned within the last five years), you may be an ideal candidate for USF's Online Advanced Standing MSW. It’s a convenient way to build on your clinical social work skills and open the door to new career opportunities.

Please Note: This is a self-funded program, and tuition waivers (State or USF employee waivers) are not accepted.

Program Benefits

  • Fully online, so you can learn remotely
  • Study on a full- or part-time basis
  • Graduate in three to five semesters
  • Learn from the same faculty as on-campus students
  • Pursue field placement in your area of interest with one of over 1,000 field instructors

Program Structure

A single cohort of students is admitted each summer. You will meet with your professor online from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. EST on Tuesday evenings for the first semester, and Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remaining semesters. Coursework includes:

  • Social Work Core Courses (20 Credits)
  • Supervised Field Experience (8 Credits)
  • Electives (6 Credits)
  • Capstone Project (1 Credit)
