U.S. Department of Labor Change in Salary Minimum

On September 24, 2019, the DOL released a final rule increasing the salary level needed for employees to be exempt from overtime pay.  USF will need to comply with the new rule by January 1, 2020. 

This rule increases the minimum weekly salary level to $684 per week ($35,705 for 26.1 pay periods), up from the currently enforced level of $455 per week or $23,660 annually. Proration of the minimum weekly salary of $684 is not allowed for part-time positions.

The Division of Human Resources, the Regional Human Resources, and the USFH Health HR offices are working with departments affected by this change.
