IRB Fee Schedule
POLICY STATEMENT REGARDING FEES CHARGED FOR THE USF IRB'S REVIEW OF hUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH
The University of South Florida Institutional Review Board is responsible for conducting the ethical review of human subjects research being conducted at USF to ensure research participants’ rights, safety and welfare are protected.
Protocols for human subjects research funded by the following sources will be subject to IRB fees:
- Industry-sponsored research
- Research sponsored by other for-profit entities
Sponsors will be invoiced directly by the USF IRB and must remit payment to the USF IRB. This guidance document (MS Word) clearly outlines sponsor responsibilities. Please feel free to provide the guidance to sponsors while contract negotiations are in progress.
Protocols for human subjects research funded by federal, state and/or county funds will not be subject to IRB fees. Additionally, investigator-initiated research and research funded by internal mechanisms (USF/USF Health) will not be subject to IRB fees.
In rare cases under exceptional circumstances, a fee reduction or waiver may be requested. If you would like to request a reduction or a waiver, please contact the USF IRB by email.
