Meet the Staff

Keri Riegler

Keri Riegler
Director

Keri Riegler is the Director of New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs at the University of South Florida. In this role, she provides strategic visioning and leadership for two units that contribute to USF’s student success efforts with a focus on new student transition, family engagement, and early warning interventions. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Assistant Dean of Students at the University of South Florida and has held other professional positions in a number of areas, including orientation, student activities, leadership programs, and mentoring programs. Keri’s professional involvement include serving on the Center for Women Board of Directors for NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and consulting on numerous external department review teams. She is the recipient of the USF Outstanding Staff Award, the USF Student Success Provost Team Award, and the USF Outstanding Student Affairs Collaborator Award. Keri holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida and earned her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Tampa.

 

Michelle McNulty

Michelle McNulty
Assistant Director

Michelle is the Assistant Director of New Student Connections and is currently enrolled in the Measurement and Evaluation doctoral program at the University of South Florida. Her research interests include: male student retention, use of predictive analytics and big data in higher education, and peer to peer coaching programs as an intervention strategy for persistence. Michelle earned her Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Florida State University and her B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University. Michelle has been working in higher education since 2010 with professional roles in fraternity/sorority life and new student and transition programs. Outside of work, you can find Michelle watching her favorite Cleveland and collegiate sports teams, in the gym early morning, training for her next road race, and meal prepping on Sundays. 

 

Jen Loh

Jennifer Loh 
Coordinator

Jennifer serves as a Coordinator of New Student Connections. She is from northern Virginia and received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Virginia Tech. While completing her Master’s degree in Counselor Education-Student Affairs at Clemson University, she worked with a wide range of areas within higher education. She specifically worked as the graduate assistant for enrichment and retention, where she supported initiatives focused on retaining underrepresented student populations. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys keeping up with her D.C. sports teams and baking for her friends.

 

Rick Garcia

Rick Garcia
Coordinator

Rick serves as a Coordinator of New Student Connections. He earned his Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and his Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Florida. While earning his master’s degree, Rick worked as a graduate assistant for student organizations and major events, responsible for advising student organizations and student leaders while also planning student and family programs. Additional areas of higher education Rick has worked in include orientation and transition programs as well as multicultural affairs. Outside of work, you can find Rick staying creative by drawing or crocheting and spending quality time with friends and family.

Marcia Hill

Marcia Hill
Administrative Specialist

Marcia Hill is the Administrative Speciialist for New Student Connections and Parent & Family Engagement. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Baruch College in New York and has gathered varied experiences in the field of business. She has been working in the Administrative area as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of an electricity company called Grenlec for 10 years and has also worked as a Patient Access Representative at Moffitt Cancer Center. Personally, she loves nature walks and beach activities and is well known for loving to smell coffee but not drinking it.

Brontë Phillips
Communications & Marketing Specialist 
Brontë Phillips serves as the Marketing and Communications Specialist for New Student Connections and Parent & Family Engagement. She is a USF alumnus with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Art History and Humanities & Cultural Studies with a Certificate in Visualization and Design. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in History with a focus on the preservation of visual and material culture.  During her undergraduate career, she found her passion for marketing and communications in various positions around campus with a focus on student engagement, graphic design, and branding. Outside of work and school, you can find her exploring museum collections, attempting DIY projects, hanging out with her pets, and trying to find the best bakery in the Bay area!
